“Surviving tropical saltwater flats has got to be one of the toughest jobs for a fly box. Keeping the precious ammunition and ultimately the connection to the fish in not only dry but in perfect order is absolutely paramount. Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that most waterproof boxes are only waterproof on two occasions; in theory and in the product catalogues.
To date, leading brands have been a huge disappointment, with flies slowly corroding away in my backpack out in the surf.
